This page explains how to delete your account in the CloudMess apps (CM Owner, for mess owners, and the CloudMess member app), which are run by INFIWORKS TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED (CIN U62090ME2026PTC476551), a company registered in India.
You do not need to be signed in, or to have the app installed, to ask. Mess members and mess owners ask in slightly different ways; both are set out below.
How to ask
How to ask for deletion
Email us, or message us on WhatsApp at +91 74834 01547. We handle every deletion request by hand.
Email us to delete your accountThis opens your email app with the subject line already filled in. Or write to contact@infiworks.co.in yourself with the subject “Delete my account”.
If you are a mess member
- 1The mobile number you use to sign in to CloudMess. This is how we find your account. We cannot act without it.
- 2The name of your mess, if you know it. This helps when the same number has been used at more than one mess.
- 3A note saying you want your account deleted.
You can write from any email address: we identify you by your mobile number. We may call or message that number to confirm the request is really yours before we delete anything.
If you are a mess owner
- 1Write from the email address you sign in with. This is how we find your account and confirm the request is yours.
- 2The name of your mess.
- 3A note saying you want your mess-owner account closed, and whether you want a copy of your mess’s records first.
Closing a mess-owner account also closes the mess and ends your CloudMess subscription, so your members can no longer use the mess in the app. We tell you exactly what will be kept, and what your members will see, before we act.
Timeline
What happens, and when
Within 30 days of your request, we close your account and stop using your data. The tables below show what happens to each kind of data after that. Some of it must be kept for a while, because the law requires it.
Members
What happens to a member’s data
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your CloudMess account: your mobile number and the sign-in ID made from it, your name, gender, settings and consent records | Closed within 30 days. Kept for 180 days after that, as the IT Rules require, then deleted |
| Your notification token and your in-app notifications | Deleted when we close your account |
| Records your mess keeps about you: membership, meals, surveys, tiffin, parcel and leave records, notes, and activity-log entries | We tell your mess owner, and remove your name and phone number from them, unless your mess must keep them by law. For example, payment records stay with your mess’s accounts |
| Login codes | Already deleted automatically, 24 hours after each one |
| Crash reports | Deleted by Google 90 days after the crash |
Mess owners
What happens to a mess owner’s data
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your owner account: sign-in email, password hash, profile and consent records | Closed within 30 days. Kept for 180 days after that, as the IT Rules require, then deleted |
| Your mess and its records: mess profile, UPI ID, notices and settings, and members’ memberships, meals, payments and activity log | We give you a copy if you ask, then delete them within 90 days, except what the law requires us to keep |
| Our admin log entry recording that we created your account, with its email address | Kept permanently, as our accountability record |
| Your subscription payments to us (kept in our own accounts) | 8 years, as Indian tax law requires |
From 13 May 2027, India’s data-protection rules also require personal data and records of its processing to be kept for at least one year, so nothing will be deleted sooner than that. We never use kept data for anything else, and we never sell it.
